Wildcat Falls

Wildcat Falls is a waterfall right off of Highway 215 in the Pisgah National Forest. It’s almost a mile north of the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina, between Bubbling Spring Branch Falls and Bubbling Spring Branch Cascades. There’s a gravel pull-off on the eastern side of the street. It’s very easy to miss. Look for a brown, wooden sign featuring the campsite icon. It’s a rutted lot, so be very careful if you have a car with low clearance.

The trail is clearly marked. I think it’s part of an old logging railroad, so the grade is easy and very kid-friendly. The falls are about a half mile from the parking lot. The falls aren’t really worth a visit on their own, but it’s worth dropping by if you’re already in the area for another activity or if you’re hiking past the falls on the longer trail.

I learned about this site from North Carolina Waterfalls: A Hiking and Photography Guide.
