Rocky Broad Riverwalk

Rocky Broad Riverwalk is a tourist attraction in the shadow of Chimney Rock in North Carolina. It’s right off of Hwy 74 between Lake Lure and the Hwy 64 junction. It’s basically just a path along the boulders in the middle of the Rocky Broad River behind the seasonal shops and restaurants. People stop here all the time to use the public restrooms and browse the tchotchke shops. When I pass through here, I usually get out to stretch my legs and maybe grab a bite to eat. It’s very kid-friendly and is a nice little waste of time.

I always mean to spend a weekend at Lake Lure during peak season, but I never actually go. The place is right out of the 1950s. In fact, it’s the little lake village where Dirty Dancing was filmed. I bet the people-watching there is top notch.
